Feather Reed Grass ‘Calamogrostis’

Sun or light shade.
Plumes late summer into Fall.
Upright narrow clump with fine texture.
Height 2 to 4 feet.

 


Northern sea Oats ‘Chasmanthium Latifolium’

The Grass 'Northern Sea Oats', Chasmanthium latifolium, is upright and arching. It is treasured for its showy, dropping flowers and slender, bamboo-like foliage that changes from green, to copper, to rich brown. It self-sows freely; deadhead if you do not want volunteer seedlings next season. Magnificent for winter contrast, it flourishes in containers or even in a shady, damp site -- including coastal areas. Pest and disease free. Mature height 2-3 feet.

 


Hakonechloa Macra ‘Aureola’

Japanese Forest Grass makes an outstanding bright accent in the lightly shaded garden. Growing slowly to 2 ’ high and 3’ wide, the elegantly arching blades are striped in brilliant green and gold tones. This exceptional ornamental grass performs best in a moist soil. It is most at home in USDA cold hardiness zones 5-9.

 


Blue Oat Grass ‘Helictotrichon’

Graceful fountains of colorful bright blue-gray blades form neat ornamental clumps that combine well with other grasses. Reliable and attractive accent, specimen, perfect for rock gardens. Evergreen. Full sun. Moderate grower to 2 to 3 feet tall and wide.

 


Japanese Blood Grass ‘Imperata Cylindrica’

A great red tipped upright ornamental grass that becomes increasingly red as the season progresses.  Becomes blood red by fall.    It is useful in borders, rock gardens, containers or as a colorful accent.  Foliage is green with red tips and looks best when light shines through it.  Plant in masses or among rocks.  Height 18’’ Spread  36’’

 


Maiden Grass ‘Miscanthus’

An arching, graceful grass that forms dense clumps of green or variegated foliage.   This grass is used in the landscape as a specimen, screen or a nice mass of textured foliage.  Also looks great near a pond!  Maiden Grass requires a location in the landscape that receives full sun, but will tolerate some shade. Height 36’’- 48’’

 


Fountain Grass ‘Pennisetum’

This is a warm-season grass offers three-season interest. It makes a vibrant, flowing fountain of fine -textured leaves, dark green in summer and warm apricot, almond, or orange in fall, gradually bleaching to pale tan. Flowers midsummer with stems of fluffy foxtail-like spikes spilling outward like a fountain. Full sun/Part shade, does best in moist, well-drained soil. (3-4 ft. tall).
